Our creative process

Each ISTEA piece begins with an idea, a shape, or a texture, then comes to life in Montreal through a process where each step is guided by gesture and material.

From idea to material

ISTEA creations are born from what surrounds and inspires us—art, material, shapes, nature, encounters, and everyday details.

Each model is then hand-sculpted in wax by ISTEA's founder. An instinctive manipulation of the material allows each shape, texture, and imperfection to naturally find its place.

From sculpture to material

Once the sculpture is complete, the model is entrusted to a partner workshop in Montreal, where it is molded and then cast in the chosen precious metal, using the lost-wax casting method.

This method preserves the details, textures, and character of the original sculpture.

 Finishing touches

After casting, each piece is carefully worked, polished, and inspected to reveal its final brilliance, while preserving the character of the original sculpture.

 A handcrafted piece

At ISTEA, we choose to create less, but to create with intention. Each piece is handcrafted, with respect for the gesture, the material, and the time required for its creation.

This approach gives rise to pieces produced in limited quantities, whose subtle variations make each one unique.

We prioritize quality over quantity, with the desire to create rare jewelry, designed to be worn for a long time and cherished over the years.

Some creations may therefore require up to 3 to 4 weeks of manufacturing before shipment.

The rarity of a piece also lies in the time dedicated to its creation.
